EPISODE 3: History In the Making or The Secret Diaries of Linda Schultz - theatrical performance. The character of Cytter’s work employs the formulation of an alienated theatricality and a highly stylized vernacular of acting. Here these elements find form in a series of performances and films under the umbrella title 'History in the Making' which all spring from the same story and will lead from one to the other during the project’s development from September to November.

In Project Arts Centre she will present a theatrical performance in the Space Upstairs. This script tells the story of a man that wanted to change his life. So he divorced his wife, and married another. After a while he noticed her face was changing and his face was changing too - drastically. As if it was the face of another man...

EPISODE 2: Performer/Audience/Mirror - performance.

EPISODE 1, exhibition: 'History in the Making' - screening of DVD, 2008, and two performances. Keren Cytter’s films unite different genres such as cinema, soap, homevideo and reality-tv. Everyday day life merges with absurdity, fiction merges with reality within dense stories usually situated in private spaces. Cytter portrays the relationships between people and thus shows the rift between the personality of her characters (often friends and acquaintances) and the part they have to play.

Everyday day life merges with absurdity, fiction merges with reality. Cytter portrays the relationships between people and shows the rift between the personality of her characters (often friends and acquaintances) and the part they have to play. Key to her movies is the friction between the personal environment and the world one lives in, a topic that also forms the basis for a new series of performances, which will find their way into several episodes of Cytter’s new film called 'History in the Making'.
