JON MIKEL EUBA
EPISODE 3: Lecture on 'Re:Horse' - performance. Jon Mikel Euba's multi-faceted performance 'Re: Horse', described by him as a "live concert of images", fuses elements of a live impromptu filming with the mistake-filled context of the rehearsal. A white horse, live present in the space, and a projection of the legendary recording made by Andy Warhol of a rehearsal of the Velvet Underground ('Symphony of Sounds') are connected by a score that is executed by two cameramen. In the film they shoot, numerous connections are made between man and woman, human being and animal, object and limb etc.
Euba will give a lecture performance that is based on this performance and in which he, together with the audience, will analyse the fundamental elements that construct a performance and its witness.

EPISODE 2: RE:WRITING RE:HORSe - lock-in experiment. More information will follow soon
EPISODE 1, EXHIBITION: 'One minute of Silence', 2003-2005 - video consisting of: 'Neska', 22’, 'Neska la Noche', 20’, 'One per Minute, Five Minutes in Istanbul', 5’, 'One per minute, Seven Minutes in Istanbul', 7’, 'Busan', 27’.
Like a musician who writes down a song on a sheet of paper to be played live, Euba's 'One Minute of Silence' departs from a score constituted, not by words, but by images. Images of people immersed in poses and gestures, of pop singers performing on a stage. One after another, the enacted images, create a sequence; the sequence plus the intervals between one image and the following create a structure; this abstract structure is translated to reality by actual people and on real sites.

EPISODE 1, PERFORMANCE PROGRAMME: Jon Mikel Euba, Re: horse.
In 'Re: Horse' Jon Mikel Euba is addressing fundamental notions of performance such as the position of the stage and the audience and the relation between the script and its execution. It fuses elements of a live filming with the mistake-filled context of a rehearsal. Typified as a 'live concert of images', the performers are stimulated to find space for improvisation within the limits of the used script. The two central elements in the performance are a white horse, 'live' present in the space, and the projection of a legendary film recording made by Andy Warhol of a rehearsal of the Velvet Underground, made to be projected during the band's live concerts. It begins with an individual portrait of Nico that later on becomes a family portrait: that of the band. Once the police bursts into the space, the filming becomes a document that portraits the place, the Factory on that day, and the people present.
