MATTI BRAUN (EDITION I )
'The Alien' is a play that under the direction of Matti Braun, found its form fundamentally through collaboration. Matti Braun developed the project visually, designing the decor, the props and the costumes. Henrietta Hale was responsible for the choreography of the dance sequences, Li Chuan Chong wrote the musical composition and Anna-Karin Korhonen played on stage the electric Kantele, a Finish string-instrument.
The contribution of the non professional actors was specifically local for every presentation. They occupy the roles based on their own inhabitation of the characters. With this group of people Matti Braun presented a science fiction story on stage, searching for connections between image, movement, music and text that use simple and clearly defined visual strategies perhaps slightly unexpected in the narrative oriented theatre context.
