KARL HOLMQVIST (EDITION II)

Scumbags & Cie
In his installation called 'Scumbags & Cie' Holmqvist pays homage to the artist Yayoi Kusama by re-making certain elements of her spectacular visceral installations. He installs on plinths certain fetish-like objects for example 'Black Kusama Shoes' and a bag called 'Black Kusama Refugee Bag'. It connotes her distinctive style but is rendered by his own hand. He accompanies the installation with a large print called 'Joke Painting'; and a photocopy edition called 'Sex and Drugs'
